Savory Cowboy Breakfast Sliders for Your Brunch Table

Cowboy Breakfast Sliders made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces ground pork sausage cooked
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon cooked and crumbled (about 1 cup)
  • 6 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 12 slider rolls such as brioche or Hawaiian
  • 1/4 cup melted cowboy butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly spray a 7×11-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Cook the ground pork sausage in a skillet over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  3. In the same skillet, cook the bacon until crispy, then crumble it into small pieces.
  4. Whisk the eggs in a bowl, then pour them into the skillet. Cook until softly scrambled, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  5. Cut the slider rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Layer the cooked sausage, crumbled bacon, scrambled eggs, and cheese evenly over the bottom halves.
  7. Place the top halves of the rolls on the cheese. Brush liberally with melted cowboy butter.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 3-5 minutes or until the tops turn a golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and slice into individual sliders.
