Description
Effortless Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken—juicy, tender chicken coated in a rich, buttery blend inspired by the famous restaurant favorite. Pure comfort!
Ingredients
→ Protein
4 skinless chicken breasts or thighs, boneless
→ Aromatics
Minced garlic from 4 cloves
Optional: Caramelized onions for extra flavor
→ Sauce
1 cup chicken stock
4 tablespoons of butter, split up
1 teaspoon dried parsley
A pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon of paprika
→ Garnish
Optional: Shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese
Instructions
Sprinkle salt, ground black pepper, and paprika over both sides of the chicken pieces.
Set a large pan over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of butter and let it melt. Place the chicken in and cook until fully cooked and browned on each side, roughly 5-6 minutes per side depending on thickness. Move chicken out and set aside.
In the same pan, melt the rest of the butter. Toss in the garlic and let it cook for 30-60 seconds until its aroma comes through, but don’t let it darken.
Add chicken stock and honey to the pan. Scrape up any bits on the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon so they mix into the sauce.
Put the chicken pieces back into the pan and coat them with the sauce. Keep cooking uncovered for about 5-7 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken slightly.
If using cheese, sprinkle it on top of the chicken, then cover for a brief moment to let it melt.
Sprinkle dried parsley over everything before serving. Feel free to add caramelized onions for garnish if you want a boost of flavor.
Notes
Adding caramelized onions in the last step makes the dish richer, so prepare them earlier if you’d like.
