A refreshing and colorful 7-Layer Salad perfect for potlucks and gatherings.
Ingredients

- 1 head of iceberg lettuce, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups frozen peas, thawed
- 1/2 cup red onion, diced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a large trifle dish or salad bowl, layer the ingredients in the following order: iceberg lettuce, peas, red onion, cheddar cheese, and bacon.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Spread the dressing mixture evenly over the top of the salad, covering the layers below.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
- Before serving, top with additional crumbled bacon, shredded cheese, and a sprinkle of fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon.
- Feel free to add other layers such as diced tomatoes or bell peppers for extra flavor.
- This salad can be made a day in advance for convenience.
