Description
A delicious and easy recipe to make a copycat Taco Bell beef burrito at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (Use lean ground beef for less grease)
- 1 cup cooked rice (White or brown rice can be used)
- 1 can black beans or pinto beans (15 oz, drained and rinsed)
- 1 packet taco seasoning (Store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups shredded cheese (Cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
- 4 large flour tortillas (For wrapping the burritos)
- Optional toppings: salsa, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, diced tomatoes
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until fully cooked, approximately 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the cooked beef and add 1/4 cup water. Stir to combine and simmer for about 5 minutes until well coated.
- In a large bowl, mix the seasoned beef with the cooked rice and beans. Add in 1 cup of shredded cheese, stirring until everything is well incorporated.
- Lay a flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon an ample amount of the filling mixture into the center. Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to form a burrito. Repeat with the remaining tortillas.
- In the same skillet, place the burritos seam-side down and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Once finished, slice the burritos in half and serve with your favorite toppings like salsa and sour cream.
Notes
- For a healthier option, use whole wheat tortillas.
- Feel free to customize the filling with your favorite ingredients.
- These burritos can be frozen for later use.
