- 4 chicken breasts
- 2 cups crushed pretzels
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Dip each chicken breast into the flour, then into the buttermilk, and finally coat with the crushed pretzels.
- Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the pretzel crust is golden brown.
- In a small saucepan, combine the cheddar cheese, Dijon mustard, honey, and Worcestershire sauce over low heat. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Serve the pretzel chicken drizzled with the mustard-cheddar sauce.
Notes
For added crunch, consider a quick blast under the broiler for 30-60 seconds at the end. Let the coated chicken rest for 10 minutes before baking for the best crust adherence.
