Ingredients

  • 1 pound pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Pour in crushed tomatoes and add oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
