Description
This One Pot French Onion Pasta combines rich flavors of caramelized onions and creamy cheese in a simple, easy-to-make dish.

- 12 oz orecchiette pasta
- 3 large yellow onions, sliced into 1/8-inch rings
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups water
- 3 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp fresh thyme
- 1 tsp fresh parsley
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 cup gruyère cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Instructions
- In a large pot, sauté the sliced onions over medium heat until caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another 2 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine water and beef bouillon cubes until dissolved.
- Pour the beef broth into the pot with onions and garlic.
- Add the evaporated milk, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, thyme, parsley, oregano, paprika, and red pepper flakes.
- Stir in the pasta and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer until pasta is cooked, around 10-12 minutes.
- Stir in gruyère and Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Serve warm, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
Notes
- Use a mandoline slicer for even onion rings.
- Adjust garlic to taste.
- For best flavor, use freshly grated cheese.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
