- 2 lbs chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 1/2 cup bourbon
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Place the chicken thighs in the Crock Pot.
- Pour the bourbon mixture over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and stir to combine with the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, remove the chicken and let the sauce simmer on high for 15-20 minutes before serving.
- This dish pairs well with rice or noodles.
