Description
A quick and easy one-pan dinner featuring chicken sausage, broccoli, and orzo pasta, perfect for busy weeknights.

- 12 oz chicken sausage, sliced into rounds
- 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 4–5 minutes.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add uncooked orzo and toast lightly for 1–2 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 8 minutes.
- Add broccoli florets, cover again, and cook for another 4–5 minutes until orzo is tender and broccoli is bright green.
- Remove from heat, stir in Parmesan cheese, and season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Serve warm, garnished with extra Parmesan if preferred.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
- Feel free to substitute the chicken sausage with turkey sausage or a vegetarian option.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated for leftovers.
