Description

Create a festive Candy Corn Sugar Cookie Pizza for Halloween. This easy recipe uses store-bought sugar cookie dough and simple buttercream frosting, colored to resemble candy corn. It’s a fun and delicious treat for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 roll (16.5 oz) refrigerated sugar cookie dough
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Yellow and orange gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray a 12-inch round pizza pan with cooking spray or line with parchment paper.
  2. Unwrap cookie dough, slice into 1/4-inch slices, and arrange evenly over the pizza pan. Press slices together to form a smooth crust.
  3. Bake for 13-15 minutes, until edges are golden and center is cooked. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  4. In a large bowl, beat butter until creamy (1-2 minutes).
  5. Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Add vanilla extract and milk. Beat until frosting is light and fluffy.
  7. Set aside 1/2 cup of frosting for white. Divide remaining frosting into two bowls for yellow and orange.
  8. Add yellow gel food coloring to one bowl and orange to the other. Mix until desired shades are achieved.
  9. Once the cookie crust is cool, frost the pizza. Start with yellow on the outside, then orange in the middle, and white in the center. Spread frosting evenly.
  10. For clean lines, use piping bags or Ziploc bags with a snipped corner.
  11. Cut the candy corn pizza into 8 slices and serve.

Notes

  • Gel food coloring provides better color and texture than liquid.
  • For a whiter frosting, a tiny bit of purple gel coloring can be used, but be cautious not to add too much. Clear vanilla extract can also help.
  • Pressing the dough can be messy; use wax or parchment paper to help create a smoother surface.
  • Ensure the cookie crust is completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.
  • Baking and decorating on the day of serving is recommended for best results.
