Description
A smoky, creamy skillet meal featuring spicy sausage and a silky cream cheese sauce combined with tender pasta for a comforting dinner.

- 8 ounces pasta (penne, rigatoni, or shells)
- 1 pound Cajun sausage, sliced
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper, and sauté until softened.
- Add the minced garlic and sliced Cajun sausage, cooking until the sausage is browned.
- Stir in the Cajun seasoning, mixing well.
- Add the pasta and enough water to cover it, then bring to a boil. Cook according to the pasta package instructions until al dente.
- Lower the heat, stir in the heavy cream and shredded cheese, and mix until combined and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra cheese if desired.
Notes
You can adjust the heat level by using more or less Cajun seasoning. Serve with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
